September Employee of the Month

The individual selected as EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH for September 2009, has been employed with the Sheriff’s Office since April 24th, 1994. Congratulations to Sergeant Wayman Saunders.

Sergeant Saunders is currently assigned to A Team as the Zone Two Supervisor. In this position, Sergeant Saunders oversees Inmate Housing Areas 2 North, 4 North, and 4 South, and the Kitchen and Laundry Center operations. He supervises a total of 10 officers. Sergeant Saunders is known for being a firm, but fair supervisor. His dedication to the agency is reflected in his daily performance.

Sergeant Saunders was promoted to Corporal in 1999 and to Sergeant in September of 2008. He is professional and tactful when communicating with officers, inmates, and other staff working in the Detention Center. On numerous occasions, Sgt. Saunders has served as the Shift Administrator in the absence of the Lieutenant and has been successful in managing facility operations.

Based on his positive attitude toward his job and his abilities to perform his duties on a professional level the Selection Board proudly names Sergeant Wayman Saunders as Employee of the Month for September, 2009.
