MaryAnne Rowley, daughter of Sergeant Jeremy Rowley, has been awarded the prestigious North Carolina Sheriff’s Association (NCSA) college scholarship for the second time.
MaryAnne is a senior at Appalachian State University majoring in Criminal Justice. She demonstrates a first-class work ethic, working in the school bookstore and as the wrestling manager for the university. She sets high goals for herself and achieves them without fail. MaryAnne consistently demonstrates strength of character and good leadership skills through moral and ethical behavior. She motivates others through hard work and caring attention.
The NCSA provides up to twelve $1,000 scholarships per semester for criminal justice students attending a UNC System University. Each student must be sponsored by their county Sheriff in order to apply for the scholarship. Students must also meet academic and financial need criteria.
MaryAnne will graduate in December 2013, with future plans to become a Federal Law Enforcement Officer. She will be the third generation in her family to enter law enforcement and we are confident she will be a success.
Congratulations MaryAnne!
