Lewis Moore Retires

Mr. Lewis Moore began his Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office career on March 3rd, 2001 as a Detention Officer assigned to the LEDC. He was promoted to Sheriff’s Accreditation Specialist in 2006.

During his tenure, Mr. Moore successfully led the agency to achieve CALEA Accreditation in 2010 and CALEA Reaccreditation in 2013. The FCSO is one of only five sheriff’s offices currently accredited in North Carolina.

Mr. Moore served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1972. He continued his service as a U.S. Army Reserve from 1972 to 2003. Mr. Moore also has previous corrections experience at Virginia and North Carolina Department of Corrections. Mr. Moore earned a M.S. Rehabilitative Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University and B.A. Sociology/Psychology from University of Miami.

Mr. Moore will be missed and we wish him the best in all future endeavors.
