The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 975 participated in a law enforcement competition September 25-27 at Camp Grimes in Morganton, NC. “Survival Weekend” is held annually with competitive events that encompass aspects of physical fitness and law enforcement activities. Cardiovascular fitness was measured by team performance of sit-ups, push-ups, running and other timed events. Law enforcement events included felony vehicle stop training and handcuff techniques and overall teamwork.
Explorer Post 975 members have trained all year for Survival Weekend. Through teamwork, dedication and physical fitness, they placed first overall for the fourth year in a row. The team competed and won against much larger posts with more experience.
Each participating Explorer Post member also won individual medals in addition to the Survival Weekend first place medal. We are very proud of their accomplishments and the time they have dedicated to training for this event.
