It is with great sadness the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office announces today, September 28, 2016, the death of Deputy Sheriff John Thomas Isenhour as a result of being struck by a motor vehicle on September 18, 2016 while performing his law enforcement duties. Deputy Sheriff Isenhour, 38 years of age, had been employed by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office since October 26, 2015. Prior to his service with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Sheriff Isenhour served his country in the United States Marine Corps for seventeen years.
Deputy Sheriff Isenhour’s death is the eighth line-of-duty death experienced by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office since its establishment in the year of 1849.
Funeral arrangements are pending. The sheriff’s office appreciates the support demonstrated by the community and asks for you to please keep the Isenhour family in your thoughts and prayers, as well as our sheriff’s office family. A temporary memorial with Deputy Isenhour’s patrol vehicle has been established in front of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, located at 301 North Church Street, Winston-Salem, NC.
