Spotted Lanternfly - What Homeowners Can Do Right Now

Homeowners are on the front lines of defense against the invasive Spotted Lanternfly (SLF), a pest that poses significant threats to fruit production and grapevines. We already know we have these pests in Kernersville and managing SLF populations is crucial. Right now homeowners can tackle nymphs and adults by spraying them directly with insecticidal soap or using a wet/dry vacuum to capture and drown them in soapy water.

Here are 2 links to resources that can help with identifying and managing the pest:

**Kernersville residents no longer need to report SLF found on their property. Other Forsyth County residents can report suspected SLF to the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center office at 336-703-2850.
