Forsyth County Community Grants

As a part of its annual budget, Forsyth County provides funding for non-profit agencies to provide community services to Forsyth County residents. This funding, called "Community Grants," is for a period of one year.

The limited budget for Community Grants is limited to the following County Policies and Goals:

  • Safety - Create a community that is safe.
  • Health - Create a community that is healthy.
  • Education - Create a community with educational opportunities for everyone.
  • Cultural - Create a community that enhances the knowledge, beliefs and customs of everyone.
  • Economic Opportunities - Create a community with economic opportunities for everyone.

Funding for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Applications opens Monday, October 14, 2024 at 8am and close Monday, November 18, 2024 at 5pm.

Please see below for the anticipated Community Grants funding timeline: 

  • October 14, 2024 – November 18, 2024: Open Application Period
  • November – January: County Staff Review and Board Consideration
  • April/May – Grants approved during Board of Commissioners meeting
  • June 6, 2025 - June 27, 2025: Possible Adoption of Budget Ordinance
  • July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026: Term of service for all approved programs

Community Grant applications will be submitted online in Fiscal Year 2025-2026 using the County Community Portal. Forsyth County is no longer accepting paper applications.
