Synopsis and Discussion
Cloudy, cool, damp, conditions persist, throughout the Triad, Wednesday. Ozone and particle pollution remain low and code GREEN. Another round of showers is likely overnight into Thursday, as low pressure spins to the west of the state, pushing a cold front across the region. Behind the front, a much drier air mass will filter into the area on brisk NW winds. The new air mass will also be clean, leading to code GREEN ozone and particle pollution, Thursday and Friday. Particle pollution will begin to climb to the mid and upper code GREEN range, Saturday, as the winds decrease and strong overnight/early morning inversions occur. Note, October 31st is the last day for the 2025 ozone season. Ozone will return to the Daily Air Quality Forecast on March 1, 2026. Particle pollution is forecast 365 days a year (GENTRY).
