Synopsis and Discussion
Brisk westerly winds, Thursday, behind a cold front, have brought in a much drier air mass to the Triad, along with good mixing and code GREEN AQI readings. The winds will decrease somewhat overnight into Friday morning but pick up again and become gusty, Friday afternoon. Particle pollution may spike as the winds decrease but lower later in the day with the strong mixing winds. Overall, the daily average will be code GREEN. Over the weekend, the winds will decrease enough to allow for a buildup of particle pollution potentially back to low code YELLOW. Ozone will finish out the season low and code GREEN, Friday. Note, October 31st is the last day for the 2025 ozone season. Ozone will return to the Daily Air Quality Forecast on March 1, 2026. Particle pollution is forecast 365 days a year (GENTRY).

The Forsyth County Office of Environmental Assistance and Protection is making data available from the county's air monitoring network as a public service. These data represent the hourly data set from all of the sites within this network. Data from Triad sites outside of Forsyth County are collected by the North Carolina Division of Air Quality.
