The Fire and Rescue Training Curriculum is sponsored by the Forsyth County Fire and Rescue Association as a service to the emergency responders serving Forsyth County. These training programs strive to efficiently utilize the resources of time, funds and personnel in order to provide new and veteran personnel with opportunities to obtain and maintain recognized levels of certification. This resource allows individual department programs to concentrate on equipment, procedural, maintenance, and tactical training.
All programs are on-going and repeated annually or as demand dictates. All classes are arranged in a free standing, block format divided into subject areas. Students must be at least 16 years of age, have the Chief's permission and pre-register approximately 2 weeks in advance of the class.
The Certification Curriculum is divided into semesters (Spring, Summer and Fall). The Spring Semester begins in January and serves as the "Entry" Level segment for emergency responders. The schedules also indicate the certification level each subject is designed to meet. (Example: E = Entry Level, FF I-II = Firefighter I-II and ERT = Rescue Technician.
Please read schedules carefully. Any questions or pre-registration can be handled by calling the Forsyth County Fire Department, Monday - Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at (336) 703-2550.
