Sergeant D. Chenault has been employed by the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office since 1992, and is currently assigned to the Training Division. During the month of July, a vacancy in Training left the division short staffed. Sergeant Chenault has taken on all the duties resulting from the vacancy and has done an excellent job.
Sergeant Chenault has recently completed training to become a Detention Officers Certification Course (DOCC) School Director. She also coordinated and completed her first DOCC School held at the LEDC. Many challenges occur that are associated with coordinating a DOCC school, such as filing the appropriate paperwork with the state, coordinating instructors to teach and evaluating all the instructors. The school was completed professionally and all participates passed the State Exam to become certified Detention Officers.
Sergeant Chenault has also coordinated all the other Training needs of the Detention Bureau, ensuring all mandated training is completed and scheduling and Basic Law Enforcement Courses to be held in January. Additionally, Sergeant Chenault has made herself available for Dentition Officer interviews and incident review boards. Sergeant Chenault has had to sacrifice a tremendous amount of her personal time to accomplish these duties. Sergeant Chenault is commended for her dedication and her ability to take on additional responsibilities.
