Roberto Porras has been employed by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office since 1999. Though Mr. Porras is assigned as a Property Clerk at the Detention Center, he has been filling in as a Warehouse Clerk since mid August of 2010 due to absence of the Warehouse Manager and one of the two Warehouse Clerks. Mr. Porras has filled in as a Warehouse Clerk on other occasions as requested.
During the week of November 22 through November 29, Mr. Porras fulfilled the duties of both Warehouse Clerks in the absence of regularly assigned staff. Mr. Porras worked extremely hard during this week and when above and beyond what is expected.
Over the past few months the facility has been going through some major renovations. During this time Mr. Porras has assisted with escorting the contract vendors throughout the facility, searching and inventorying tools and other equipment brought into the facility by the contract vendors. Mr. Porras has also been a great help in going through the Warehouse and organizing stock as a means of assisting me in developing an inventory control system in the Warehouse. Mr. Porras assisted in going through all the old and outdated uniforms which was stored in the Warehouse. Many of the duties that Mr. Porras has been responsible for include issuing uniform items, unloading trucks, putting up stock, delivering supplies throughout the facility, distributing shipments via UPS and FedEx to the intended people/areas as well as many other things. Mr. Porras has been solely responsible for chemicals throughout the facility. Mr. Porras has not only delivered and refilled the chemical dispensers, but he has often repaired the chemical dispensers when they were broken or needed replacing.
Mr. Porras has proven himself to be an asset to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Detention Services Bureau. He has eagerly completed his regular assigned tasks as a Warehouse Clerk as well as any additional task I have requested of him. Mr. Porras has been a team player in the Warehouse. When asked by other staff to help with a task, Mr. Porras always jumped in to help. His strong work ethics and willingness to be a team player are assets to the FCSO.
