Corporal Williams was promoted to Detention Corporal on October 17 th 2011. Since being promoted she has been assigned D-Team, Zone 2 and acts as the Special Response Team Leader in the absence of supervision. Corporal Williams projects a “Can do” attitude and is both respected and lauded by the officers she supervises and those that supervise her. Corporal Williams has repeatedly exercised level headed decision making in the face of tense situations within the facility that could have resulted in serious security breaches. Corporal Williams is a LEAD BY EXAMPLE type of supervisor who never shies away from situations that challenge her.
On January 28, 2011 Corporal Williams was charged with investigating a Gang related fight that occurred in 4-North housing. It was not realized until later by Corporal Williams the extent of gang involvement and the seriousness of the threat posed to the facility. Due to her outstanding investigation, Corporal Williams was able to identify and remove the most serious and dangerous perpetrators of the incident. These inmates included three top ranking members of the Bloods Street gang who were and are charged with crimes ranging from murder to armed robbery. This resulted in the de-escalating of a situation that could have possibly lead to the loss of institutional control and untold injuries to Officers and inmates.
Corporal Williams has proven that she is able to work with minimal supervision as well as sound decision making. She is a valued employee of the FCSO and will continue to draw the admiration of those she supervises.
