The Training/Procurement Section has undergone a transformation of the section’s responsibilities originating with a change in leadership in December 2010. This transformation of responsibilities included increasing the functionality of the armory and efficiency of officer training.
The Training/Procurement section has cleaned and organized the Armory, returning it to a fully functioning area with ample room for staff. Sheriff’s Office Armorers can now repair weapons more effectively. The staff has reorganized various training materials and equipment and streamlined the associated paperwork. Additionally, the Training staff has implemented increased on-line training. This move to on-line training has resulted in a decrease of time personnel must spend in traditional classroom training, equating to a reduction in training-related overtime.
The Training/Procurement staff has also implemented new strategies and approaches to training and procurement issues and has taken ownership of the responsibilities associated with their assignment within the FCSO. This improvement of organization, cooperation and motivation bodes well for this section. The section is commended for their efforts, attitude, and leadership demonstrated in the past two months.
