On 02-14-2012, Cpl. Lambert and Deputy Gwyn responded to an emergency call for service in Rural Hall. Information was provided that an engine was running to a vehicle and it appeared that the subject inside the vehicle was unresponsive. The vehicle was reported to be smoking and becoming very dangerous to the surrounding neighborhood.
Upon their arrival, they located an unresponsive female that was lying in a truck and noticed a hose running from the exhaust pipe to the inside of the vehicle. County fire personnel were called and responded to the scene. Before the fire department arrived, A decision was made to make forced entry to the vehicle and extract the female victim. It was later determined that she attempted suicide. Because of their quick response and decision making skills, a life was saved.
