On July 7, 2014 Deputy McDowell responded to Lacock Avenue in reference to a house alarm. Upon arrival, he discovered the rear door had been forced open. Deputy McDowell began to clear the residence and observed one subject running from a side basement door. Several units responded to set up a perimeter to track the subject with a K9 officer.
While the track was ongoing, a subject matching the description of interest was located walking in the area and detained. The K9 search resulted in numerous items stolen from the home being recovered. The male was transported to his mother’s house by Deputy McDowell. Deputy McDowell explained the events that had occurred and secured permission from the mother to speak with the young male.
Deputy McDowell was able to secure a confession from the subject that he and another male broke into the house. Deputy McDowell, with the assistance of Investigative Services, worked on this case and were able to secure warrants for Second Degree Burglary, Larceny after B&E, and Resist, Delay, and Obstruct and Officer.
