On 02/19/2015 while on routine patrol, Corporal Decker noticed water coming from Style Nails in Clemmons. He attempted to make contact with McCormick Realty, who manages the retail shopping center. After an unsuccessful attempt, Corporal Decker requested a deputy respond to the McCormick’s residence for notification of a busted pipe in the business of Style Nails.

Corporal Decker began looking up telephone numbers of other tenants in the shopping center and making notification to store managers. His quick thinking and actions prevented a large amount of damage to other tenant space in the shopping center. McCormick Realty expressed gratitude for Corporal Decker’s "above and beyond" actions, preventing major damage to the shopping center.
