On November 24, 2015, Detention Officer J. Stock was conducting a security tour when he observed an inmate who had secured a bed sheet around his neck and the top bunk in his cell in an attempt to commit suicide. Detention Officer Stock immediately called a Code Orange and attempted to remove the sheet from the inmate's neck. Additional staff responded to assist and first aid was administered. EMS transported the inmate to the hospital for his injuries and recovery process.

Detention Officer Stock’s security tours were reviewed on tape after the incident. His security tours were 99.9% perfect over a twelve hour period while observing the inmate. Detention Officer Officer Stock is considered an asset to the Law Enforcement Detention Center and the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. His quick action prevented additional harm or death to the inmate.
