On March 18, 2016, Deputy McGavic responded to a harassment call. Upon arrival, he learned of an ongoing issue between neighbors. The caller was a single parent of a young child and was unsure of how to handle continued harassment by a neighbor. A Civil Restraining Order was currently in place but the neighbor continued the harassing behavior. The caller tried to obtain charges against the neighbor without success. Deputy McGavic made several phone calls and was persistent in assisting the distressed citizen. He spoke with a Magistrate and was successful in obtaining a Warrant for Arrest for the harassment.

The caller later contacted the Sheriff’s Office and expressed sincere gratitude toward Deputy McGavic and his work. Due to the anxiety and stress of the situation that persisted over one year, she was very emotional when describing the circumstances. Congratulations to Deputy McGavic for a job well done.
