On September 11th, Detention Officer Wilson volunteered to assist with a “First Responders Appreciation Service” at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church in Walkertown. The wreath laying ceremony was very impressive and moving to attendees. Detention Officer Wilson worked with officers from other Law Enforcement agencies who had no participated in an Honor Guard service. With his guidance, the ceremony ran smoothly. Detention Officer Wilson takes great pride in being a member of the Honor Guard which adds to the professionalism of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.
Captain Watson of the Winston-Salem Police Department is a member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church. He wrote a letter to Detention Officer Wilson expressing his thanks and praise for participation in the First Responders Appreciation Service. "I have served in law enforcement for 28 years and Morris Chapel is my home church. I therefore was doubly proud of the service and the ability we first responders have in coming together for a common cause! Thank you again and I hope to see you soon!"
