On several occasions in January, Detention Officer II C. Adams discovered illegal drugs while searching inmates at the intake sally port of the Law Enforcement Detention Center. On January 11, 2017, Detention Officer II Adams found, in an inmate’s possession, contraband which appeared to be marijuana. On January 21, 2017, Detention Officer II Adams found a clear baggie containing marijuana inside an inmate’s jacket. Later in the day, Detention Officer II Adams and Detention Officer I B. Davis discovered cocaine on an inmate. All contraband was confiscated and returned to the arresting officer.

By conducting thorough and systematic searches of inmates entering the facility, Detention Officer II Adams prevented the introduction of illegal substances. The control of contraband is a very serious policy at the Law Enforcement Detention Center. Detention Officer II Adams is applauded for her actions.
