In December, Deputy J. Leonard responded to a disturbance call. Upon arrival, he found an involved party who suffered from autism. The subject was extremely concerned because a disability check had not arrived as scheduled and there was no food in the home. The subject was very distraught and unable to be calmed. Deputy Leonard went through the usual protocol for a disturbance call and he diffused the situation. Deputy Leonard displayed compassion and went above and beyond his duty by purchasing and delivering food that the person was unable to afford. Deputy Leonard’s service to the citizens of Forsyth County embodies the values of the Sheriff’s Office.
