On July 11, 2021, Detention Officer A. Mosner was completing a security tour of a dormitory which houses female residents. While conducting this task, Detention Officer Mosner noticed a female resident hanging from the mezzanine area in an attempt to harm herself. Detention Officer Mosner immediately rushed to the resident in an attempt to prevent this from happening. Sergeant M. Lewthwaite and Detention Officer R. Jolly arrived on scene and quickly assisted Deputy Mosner in bringing the resident back onto the mezzanine floor. Once the resident was safe, medical aid was rendered until medical staff arrived. Had it not been for the staff member’s quick actions, this incident could have turned fatal. All parties involved are highly commended for a job well done and for having the ability to save a life.
