During the past year, Sergeant Osborne has been working diligently to keep the fleet vehicles for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office operational. This includes taking multiple vehicles that were set to be auctioned and placing them into active service once again to ensure everyone has a vehicle in a time of extreme shortage. These vehicles have had their share of problems, which depletes our spare fleet of vehicles when repairs are needed for the safety of the operator. There has been a struggle to obtain new vehicles from manufacturers, due to COVID and other factors, which has put our office behind on rolling some vehicles back to auction. Sergeant Osborne also works with outside repair facilities when needed. Even when it has seemed impossible, Sergeant Osborne shuffled vehicles around to keep them in service and supply vehicles to newly created positions. Sgt. Osborne looks for ways to save money and time on pushing vehicles out and back into service by working with third-party vendors, the county garage, and members of our agency to take care of needs and wants. Sgt. Osborne works extremely hard behind the scenes and is rarely recognized until a vehicle or equipment is needed or requires repairs. Sgt. Osborne is an asset to the staff, agency, and Forsyth County.
