The Civilian Staff Member of the Month for June is Ms. A. Conrad, Communications Manager, for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. Ms. Conrad consistently works beyond her required hours to ensure that her staff members are taken care of and our Deputies out on the street are safe. She takes the liberty to stay past her regular work schedule, even if it means working multiple 14-hour shifts in a week and not taking any days off for herself, which often goes unnoticed. However, her work has become more challenging as a result of the seven vacancies in our Communications Center. As a manager, she is not required to work the phones, but she has been assisting her team daily on the floor, which ultimately puts her behind on all the other projects. One of the unique attributes Ms. Conrad brings to the table her selfless heart and care for others, which shows in her work ethic daily, especially when staffing is short. Most people would run in the other direction when faced with challenges but Ms. Conrad faces the challenges head-on and, if anything, works even harder to make sure a solution is found. In addition, Ms. Conrad continuously does employee appreciation projects for her staff members, including providing meals, and gifts, covering shifts and listening to their needs. As we know, dispatchers are our unsung heroes. These individuals work around the clock to keep those of us on the streets safe and care for our community in ways we cannot even fathom. Ms. Conrad truly embodies what it means to be a team player and not only takes care of her team but also ensures everyone else around the office has what he or she needs to do the job.
