On November 8, 2022, Deputy M. Genest conducted a traffic stop which resulted in the offender being taken into custody along with narcotics and a firearm being seized. Deputy Genest was able to safely place the subject under arrest, even after the suspect had fired a round from the firearm that was subsequently located, presumably in his general direction. This incident was one of many examples of Deputy Genest's continued proactivity that is motivational to the platoon as a whole. Deputy Genest is consistently one of the highest stat producers as it relates to drug and firearm related arrests, all while maintaining his other duties of responding to calls for service and acting as a Field Training Officer. Deputy Genest is known to stay late if needed to accomplish his tasks, whether it be paperwork related to field training, entering property at the Beaty Center or whatever else may be required of him. Deputy Genest always has a "can do" attitude and is considered a valuable asset to the platoon in both his depth of knowledge and willingness to accomplish directives. It goes without saying that Deputy Genest is a vital part of Charlie Platoon that inspires his co-workers to elevate their work ethic and that his supervisors can count on when needed.
