September Enforcement Staff Members of the Month

On September 13, 2023, patrol Sergeant J. White, Deputy C. Brown, Deputy C. Harris and Deputy L. Lamb responded to a Domestic with Weapons call involving a mother and adult son who were living together. During the argument, the son brandished a firearm and threatened his mother. The mother exited the house and waited outside for deputies to arrive while the son remained upstairs in the residence. When Deputies arrived on scene, they took the son into custody who was later identified as being a convicted felon and admitted to having a firearm but would not disclose where it was located. Deputies checked the residence for any other suspects or victims but did not find anyone else inside. A firearm was seen in plain view inside a vehicle on the property, but they did not know who it belonged to or if it was the one the son had brandished earlier. Deputies did not conclude their investigation and just make the obvious arrest. Instead, they obtained a search warrant for the residence (and its curtilage) in an attempt to locate the weapon. During the execution of the search warrant, at least six firearms (one was an AR style rifle with a drum magazine), approximately 2 ½ pounds of Methamphetamine, 1 ¼ pounds of Fentanyl and/or pills that contained a combination of Fentanyl with other illicit narcotics along with a large sum of US Currency were located and seized. Because of their actions and for conducting a full and thorough investigation along with doing so much more than the bare minimum, they have been selected as the Enforcement Staff Members of the Month. It is very easy to “grab the lowest piece of fruit hanging” and not even try for “the fruit on a higher branch” that would require additional work and time. This is exactly what the community expects from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and these deputies did just that.
