Corporal A. Molina, Deputy D. Barcia, D. Renegar, K. Shelf, and R. Tomlinson are being recognized for their exemplary actions during a critical incident while working off-duty at the Mansion, located in Winston-Salem. In the face of a sudden and dangerous situation, the deputies displayed remarkable courage, quick thinking, and selflessness. Upon hearing a gunshot in the vicinity, they immediately sprang into action, recognizing the urgency of the situation. They swiftly identified that an employee of Ricon Latino had been shot and rushed back into the establishment, causing a state of panic among patrons. Without hesitation, the deputies rushed toward the confusion and chaos, demonstrating extraordinary bravery and composure under pressure. Inside Ricon Latino, they wasted no time in providing crucial aid to the victim while simultaneously working to contain the situation and prevent further escalation. Moreover, they identified the origin of the projectile, originating from the Salem Gardens area, and promptly alerted FCSO communications to notify WSPD, thereby aiding in the swift response and investigation of the incident. With the challenges and stress that such situations can entail, it is easy to become overwhelmed and lose focus amidst the chaos. However, these deputies remained steadfast, ensuring the safety and well-being of patrons at both venues, despite the high-pressure circumstances. Their exceptional courage, quick response, and unwavering dedication to duty exemplify the highest standards of law enforcement professionalism.
