Corporal S. Angle. This month, we are thrilled to highlight Corporal S. Angle from the C-Team at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center (FCLEDC). Corporal Angle has been an invaluable asset, consistently demonstrating unwavering dedication and exceptional professionalism. Her role as Intake Supervisor on C-Team has been nothing short of outstanding. Despite challenging circumstances, including staff shortages, Corporal Angle has skillfully managed Intake operations independently, showcasing her remarkable competence and reliability. One of Corporal Angle's standout qualities is her exceptional communication skills, which enable her to effectively engage with a diverse range of residents, both male and female. Her ability to foster clear communication and maintain order within the detention center is truly commendable. Corporal Angle's proactive approach and willingness to assist whenever needed exemplify her commitment to the Operations Division of the FCLEDC. Her dedication and hard work make her a role model for her colleagues. Please join us in celebrating Corporal S. Angle for her outstanding contributions and exemplary service. Officer L. Williams. Throughout the month of June, Officer L. Williams has consistently gone above and beyond her duties. She has exemplified extraordinary teamwork and dedication by frequently extending her shifts in the records department to assist other detention teams. Officer Williams has also generously shared her knowledge and skills with new officers, playing a crucial role in training them effectively for their roles in the records department. Notably, Officer Williams has demonstrated her commitment by sacrificing her time off on multiple occasions to support operations in Records. Her selflessness and willingness to step up when needed have made a significant impact on our team’s ability to maintain efficiency and excellence in service. Officer Williams is a valued member of our Sheriff’s Office, and her dedication to teamwork and professionalism has not gone unnoticed. Her contributions embody the core values of our organization, and she serves as an exemplary role model for her colleagues. Please join us in expressing our gratitude to Officer L. Officer S. Wayne. On May 31, 2024, Officer S. Wayne exhibited extraordinary bravery and quick thinking while serving as a Housing Unit Officer at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center. Her actions during a critical incident undoubtedly saved a life and exemplified the highest standards of professionalism and dedication to duty. During her security round, Officer Wayne discovered a resident attempting to hang himself. Without hesitation, she immediately initiated a call over the radio, prompting a rapid response from the Special Response Team (SRT) and other responders. With swift and decisive action, Officer Wayne entered the cell and courageously assisted in removing the bedsheet the resident was using in an attempt to fatally harm himself. Her intervention was crucial in preventing a tragic outcome. Upon the arrival of the SRT, it became clear that the resident had expressed a desire to end his life and questioned why his attempt was interrupted. Thanks to Officer Wayne's brave and timely response, the resident’s life was spared and he received the necessary care and intervention. Our agency acknowledges Officer Wayne's exceptional performance and believes she has gone above and beyond the call of duty. Her actions demonstrate a deep commitment to the well-being and safety of those under her care. Her bravery, professionalism, and dedication in the face of adversity reflect the values we uphold in our facility.
Officer D. Lauseng. Officer D. Lauseng has been employed at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center for two years. Before his employment with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Officer Lauseng worked in corrections in South Dakota for 13 years, where he served as a Captain over the Disturbance Squad. Following in familiar footsteps, Officer Lauseng recently became an active member of the Special Response Team at the detention center. He is predominantly assigned to work in the maximum-security administrative segregation unit, where he encounters mentally ill individuals, disruptive and violent inmates, and inmates with behavioral issues. Officer Lauseng handles stressful situations with ease and rarely needs assistance. He is assertive and eager to assist his fellow officers, serving as a role model for newer officers to emulate. Officer Lauseng is commended for his leadership abilities, his teamwork, and his encouragement of others. His dedication and true passion for his job are an inspiration to others. His outstanding service and unwavering commitment to excellence are truly exemplary. Officer Lauseng deserves to be acknowledged for his exceptional dedication and inspiring performance.
Deputy H. Acosta-Valentin. Deputy H. Acosta-Valentine is a six-year veteran with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO). For the last three years, he has been assigned as the K-9 handler for the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center (FCLEDC) and has worked diligently to ensure the safety and security of the facility. Deputy Acosta-Valentine has been instrumental in the successful outcome of numerous criminal cases. His positive, "can-do" attitude motivates those around him to strive harder. In addition to his duties at the FCLEDC, Deputy Acosta-Valentine routinely assists the enforcement side of the FCSO. Some of these duties include K-9 searches and assisting the FCSO Juvenile Intervention and Investigation Team, Tactical/High-Risk Apprehension Team, and other special units. When needed, Deputy Acosta-Valentine has assisted other agencies both within and outside of Forsyth County. During his service with the FCSO, Deputy Acosta-Valentine has also served in the US Army National Guard for over six years. Deputy Acosta-Valentine is an asset to the FCSO and exemplifies the high level of dedication for which the FCSO is known. His unwavering commitment and outstanding service make him a deserving recipient of this recognition.
