With minimal training and in a challenging environment, Officer Allen quickly adapted to her role in 4 South (Male Intake Housing) and 4 North (General Population). Her work ethic shines through as she tackles a variety of tasks, often staying past her duty hours to ensure that all responsibilities are met and to support the security team. Dickens has been selected to represent the Transportation Section of the Detention Bureau for July 2024. Deputy Dickens consistently comes to work with a positive outlook and a sense of humor that radiates across his team, setting the tone for a great day. Even when faced with challenging situations and a heavy workload, he remains upbeat and committed. His initiative and willingness to assist with any assignment make him a valued team player. On July 23, 2024, while working in a housing unit at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center, Officer G. Mocarski demonstrated exceptional vigilance by identifying the distinct smell of smoke within the unit. With precise attention to detail, Officer Mocarski was able to accurately pinpoint the specific cell locations where further investigation was necessary. He promptly contacted the Special Response Team via radio to inform them of the situation and coordinate efforts. Thanks to Officer Mocarski’s initiative, supervisors and officers were able to conduct thorough shakedowns of the identified cells. During the search, a substantial amount of contraband was discovered and confiscated, ensuring it would be subject to further testing. His meticulous approach to his security tours directly contributed to the removal of dangerous items from the facility, enhancing the overall safety of the environment. Officer Mocarski’s dedication, professionalism, and keen attention to detail are commendable and reflect the highest standards of service. Officer B. Reid. During the month of July, Officer R. Reid demonstrated outstanding diligence and commitment to safety, successfully discovering and disposing of four separate batches of “hooch” (homemade alcohol) during routine cell searches at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center. Each batch contained approximately one gallon or more, posing a serious threat to the safety and security of the facility. These discoveries were the result of Officer Reid’s consistent attention to detail while performing his duties in his assigned housing unit(s). His efforts are a credit to his team and a testament to his dedication to the agency’s mission. By proactively eliminating these hazards, Officer Reid has safeguarded both the inmate population and his fellow officers from potential harm. His exemplary performance aligns with the core values of safety and security. Officer N. Siler. On July 13, 2024, Officer N. Siler, assigned as the Male Intake Officer for the D Team, displayed exceptional vigilance and attention to detail at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center. At approximately 0430 hours, during a routine search of a newly arrested individual being brought in on a 24-hour hold, Officer Siler discovered a plastic bag containing a green leafy substance resembling and smelling like marijuana. Officer Siler’s thorough search prevented this potential drug from being introduced into the facility, safeguarding both staff and the inmate population. His proactive efforts and commitment to security are commendable.
